Let’s Share an Attitude of Gratitude

It’s easy to focus on the turkey and mashed potatoes and other delicious foods but the heart of Thanksgiving is gratitude. This Gratitude Chain is a Thanksgiving activity for families and friends to come together and see just how many things there are to be thankful for. Gratitude activities are the ideal focus for the time in between pie and naps! Gather everyone together to count your blessings and watch the gratitude chain get longer and longer.

You will need:

  • Colored construction paper cut into strips
  • Marking pens
  • Stapler (or tape)

Cut strips from multicolored paper upon which everyone can write the things they are grateful for. Cutting the strips in advance will make an easier Thanksgiving craft time.  Each child can write their gratitude items onto the printed papers and fasten the edges together through the previous link. You could use glue or tape but I recommend simply stapling the links to make things simple.

If you’d like to be really fancy, fasten some fall leaves or pictures to some of the rings to give it a more festive look.
